Matchup Simulator

Configure two Pokémon to calculate the damage each deals, KO numbers and speed, and see the likely 1v1 winner. Works with the Pokémon Champions Mega Evolution format.

Pokémon Champions (default) uses level 50 and Stat Points. Gen 9 also lets you set a Tera type.

Example: the #1 and #2 most-used Pokémon in Champions Singles (2026-09). Ability, Item, Nature and Stat Points are each the most common choice; Moves: the four most common attacking moves. Edit either side and press “Simulate matchup” to recalculate.

What the simulation does

Effective Speed for both sides (base stat, IVs, EVs or Stat Points and nature, with Choice Scarf applying ×1.5) decides who moves first, then the number of hits to KO is calculated for each move. Fewer hits means a faster knockout. Damage follows the selected ruleset (Pokémon Champions by default).

Moves first = higher effective Speed (a tie means a speed tie)

FAQ

How is the likely winner decided?

It compares how many hits each Pokémon needs to KO the other; fewer is favored, and on a tie the faster Pokémon moves first and is favored. It's a quick estimate that doesn't model abilities, crits or secondary effects.

Can I use Mega Evolution or Terastal?

Pokémon Champions (the default) supports Mega Evolution with Mega Stones. Select Gen 9 to set a Tera type.

Does speed include Choice Scarf?

Choice Scarf (×1.5) is included. Tailwind, abilities and paralysis are not.
