What to look at when comparing
Line up to six Pokémon side by side across every base stat, the total, types, abilities, weaknesses and resistances (with multipliers) and egg groups. The highest and lowest value in each row is colour-coded, so even Pokémon with similar totals can be told apart by where those points sit. Two Pokémon with the same total play completely differently if one is offensive and the other bulky.
FAQ
Is a higher base stat total always better?
Not necessarily. If a lot of the total sits in a stat you never use, a high number does little in practice. It is more useful to check whether the points are in Attack and Speed for an offensive role, or in HP and the defences for a defensive one.
Can I share a comparison?
Yes. The Pokémon you picked are part of the URL, so sending that link opens the exact same table. Each Pokédex page can also hand a Pokémon straight to this screen.
How many Pokémon can I compare at once?
Up to six — the same as a battle team, so you can use it directly to weigh up candidates for a build. Alternate forms such as regional variants and Mega Evolutions can be picked individually.
